Dr Wendy Dicks is an experienced General Practitioner with additional postgraduate diplomas in Paediatrics, HIV Medicine and Allergology.
She treats all members of the family from babies to adults but has a special interest in allergies believing that there is an under-supply of GP trained allergists that can accurately and cost effectively diagnose and treat allergies. Diagnosis is based on a good history-taking, combined with relevant and cost effective testing whether by skin prick testing or blood testing. This leads to appropriate identification of the allergen and allergen avoidance and if this is not possible then medication.
Dr Wendy Dicks attends regular conferences and is up to date with all the relevant and appropriate medication for various allergies whether Airway (Asthma), Skin (Urticaria or Eczema ), or Food Allergies. With the increasing prevalence of allergies worldwide there is also value in the knowledge of possible prevention of allergies in other members of the family.
